Zachery George Stephenson, 31, of Lenoir, will spend the next 13 to 17 years in prison following his conviction for trafficking methamphetamine by possession and transportation during Caldwell County Superior Court on Thursday, January 9, 2025.
The Honorable Daniel A. Kuehnert, Superior Court Judge from Burke County, imposed terms of the active sentence after Stephenson entered the guilty plea.
The defendant will serve his period of incarceration in custody of the North Carolina Division of Adult Corrections. He also is required to pay a mandatory fine of $100,000.
On July 16, 2024, officers with Lenoir Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle operated by the defendant. During a search of the vehicle, they recovered more than 400 grams of methamphetamine, leading to Stephenson’s arrest.
The case was investigated by Lenoir Police Department. Chief Assistant District Attorney Mitch Walker prosecuted the matter for the State.
