A Vale woman will spend six to eight years in prison following her conviction for trafficking methamphetamine during Catawba County Superior Court on Tuesday, August 4, 2026.
The sentence for 33-year-old Jennifer Ann Biggs was imposed by Superior Court Judge David H. Strickland of Mecklenburg County after she entered a guilty plea to the charge against her.
Biggs will serve her sentence in custody of the North Carolina Department of Adult Corrections. She also was assessed a mandatory fine of $50,000.
On October 16, 2025, a traffic stop was initiated for speeding. Deputies observed the defendant throw something out the window of her vehicle. A free air sniff of the vehicle by a K9 unit gave a positive alert to the presence of drugs.
Biggs was searched and had a trafficking amount of methamphetamine in her pants pocket.
During an interview, she admitted that she was planning to sell the methamphetamine.
The investigation was conducted by Samuel Helms of the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office Assistant District Attorney Melanie Earles prosecuted the case for the State with assistance from Legal Assistant Jordan Arney
