Granite Falls Man Convicted For Trafficking Fentanyl

Kenneth Christopher Day, 26, of Granite Falls, was sentenced to serve seven to 10 years in prison following his conviction for trafficking fentanyl during Caldwell County Superior Court on October 27, 2025.

The Honorable Tommy Davis, Superior Court Judge from Rutherford County, imposed terms of the active sentence after Day entered the guilty plea, along with a mandatory fine of $750,000.

The defendant will serve his period of incarceration in custody of the North Carolina Division of Adult Corrections.

Following an ongoing narcotics investigation, deputies with the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at the defendant’s Granite Falls residence on September 18, 2025.

During the search, Day was found to be in possession of a trafficking amount of fentanyl and taken into custody at that time.

The Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office handled investigation of the case. Chief Assistant District Attorney Mitch Walker prosecuted the matter for the State.
