Jonathan William Rosenbaum, 51, of Conover, was sentenced to serve six to eight years in prison following his conviction for drug charges, possession of firearm by felon and admission of habitual felon status during Catawba County Superior Court on Monday, July 21, 2025.
The Honorable Peter Knight, Superior Court Judge from Henderson County, imposed terms of the active sentence after Rosenbaum entered the guilty plea to possession with intent to manufacture/sell/deliver methamphetamine, maintain vehicle/dwelling/place for controlled substance and possession of firearm by a felon.
The defendant will serve his period of incarceration in custody of the North Carolina Division of Adult Corrections.
Rosenbaum’s sentence was enhanced by two prior felony convictions for possession of firearm by felon in Catawba County (May 2022 and January 2020) and maintain vehicle/dwelling/place for controlled substance, also in Catawba County (June 1992).
The offenses occurred February 16, 2025. The defendant had a warrant for his arrest, and his vehicle was located in a residential area. Eventually, the car stopped in the middle of a neighborhood road, and deputies identified him as the suspect for the warrant.
A K-9 unit alerted to the presence of drugs in the vehicle, and deputies found multiple drugs and a Taurus handgun when they conducted a search of the vehicle.
Deputy William Snyder handled the investigation for the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office. Assistant District Attorney Jonathan Greer prosecuted the matter for the State with aid from Legal Assistant Stacey London.
