Jeremy Scott Young, 45, of Hickory, was given an active prison sentence of eight to 11 years for his conviction on multiple criminal offenses and admission of habitual felon status during Catawba County Superior Court on Wednesday, January 29, 2025.
The Honorable Karen Eady-Williams, Superior Court Judge from Mecklenburg County, imposed terms of the active sentence after Young entered a guilty plea.
The defendant will serve his period of incarceration in custody of the North Carolina Division of Adult Corrections.
Young’s period of incarceration was enhanced by prior felony convictions for larceny of a motor vehicle in New Hanover County (June 2019), burglary and dealing in stolen property in Pasco County, Fla. (January 2013) and burglary conveyance unoccupied in Pinellas County, Fla. (January 2010).
The defendant pleaded guilty to felony breaking/entering, felony larceny, possession of stolen goods, possession of stolen motor vehicle, breaking/entering motor vehicle and obtaining property by false pretense.
The offenses involved multiple victims in Catawba and Burke counties, and they occurred between October 14-19, 2023.
