A team of volunteers from the Catawba County District Attorney’s Office traveled to Burnsville in Yancey County to assist with cleanup and renovation work from damage brought on by Hurricane Helene at the end of September. The group of women assisted other volunteers working under the supervision of Samaritan’s Purse with various projects during a work session on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, to help better conditions for people living in the Burnsville community. Volunteers from the Catawba DA’s Office were Dea Crowe, Tammy West, Erica Figueroa, Taylor Rockett and Amber Waugh.
