Ashlynn Jade Nelson was sworn in on Friday, September 20, 2024, by Judge Wes Barkley as the newest assistant District Attorney for Catawba County. A native of Caldwell County, Nelson received her criminal justice and political science degrees in 2020 from UNC-Charlotte. She graduated from Campbell Law School in 2024. She will be handling matters in Catawba County District Court. In this photo, Nelson is shown taking her oath of office as her husband T.J. Hudnall holds the Bible for her to do so. Nelson’s mother, Stacey Walker, also was on hand for the ceremony.
