Several participants from the Catawba County Veterans’ Treatment Court participated in the annual Tutus and Combat Boots 5K Run/Walk held at L.P. Frans Stadium in Hickory on Saturday, May 11, 2024. The 5K benefits Eagle Rock Camp, a non-profit that restores families, rekindles hope and stops suicide for military families. Founded in 2011 by Lynn Marilla, the camp mission statement is: “Eagle Rock Camp, through faith in action, brings military families together to heal, reconnect in their communities, restore their hope and emerge as an empowered, purpose-driven unit.” Some of the participants sported red, white and blue tutus or combat boots for the event.
