Cochran Joins Catawba County Office As Newest ADA

Drew Cochran is the newest prosecutor for the 36th Prosecutorial District, joining the Catawba County office in Newton.

He was sworn in as Catawba’s newest assistant district attorney on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, by District Court Judge Amy Sigmon Walker.

Originally from Michigan, Cochran joins the Catawba office after spending three years as a prosecutor for the Moore County DA’s Office in Pinehurst. He also spent five years with the DA’s Office in Forsyth County and three years in Watauga County, in addition to four years with the United States Attorney’s Office. Additionally, Cochran was in private practice for a period of time in Rowan County.

Cochran completed his undergraduate degrees in History and Spanish at Hillsdale College in Michigan in 2002, and he graduated from law school at Wake Forest University in 2006.

Cochran will be handling property, drug and serious felony cases at the Superior Court level in Catawba County.
